Recognizing Anger Through Inside Out

Pixar continues their streak of wonderful animated movies with Inside Out. It’s one of those films that you can watch repeatedly and still discover new things that you didn’t see on the first viewing. I am certain I missed a lot and I would definitely watch this movie again if I come across it on the TV.

INSIDE OUTThe biggest takeaway I got from the movie was that no matter the circumstances, you should never make a decision, or say something, when you’re angry. It just doesn’t do any good and you’ll most likely regret it in the end. If you’ve seen the film, I’m sure you remember all of the instances where Anger was in control of Riley’s console and all of his decisions end up making things worse for Riley.

Not saying it’s a useless emotion, it does have its purposes. But always make sure that you calm yourself down before doing anything. Letting anger control your actions and speech is just recipe for disaster.

Although I am curious about Riley’s dad. His console is controlled by Anger yet he seems like a well-adjusted adult. Did the movie explain this bit? If anyone who has figured it out I would welcome the explanation.
